I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! ; 03:52

dahhhhling! It is Alicia Keys!

I love the video.
I love the song.
I love Alicia Keys.

I have been waiting for quite a while for her to produce some decent music. This track gives me that Fallin' vibe.

I LOVE IT!

Alicia Keys - Like You'll Never See Me Again (Mp3)

If I had no more time
No more time left to be here
Would you cherish what we had?
Was it everything that you were looking for?
If I couldn’t feel your touch
And no longer were you with me
I’d be wishing you were here
To be everything that I’d be looking for
I don’t wanna forget the present is a gift
And I don’t wanna take for granted the time you may have here with me
‘Cause Lord only knows another day is not really guaranteed

So every time you hold me
Hold me like this is the last time

Every time you kiss me
Kiss me like you’ll never see me againEvery time you touch me Touch me like this is the last time Promise that you’ll love me Love me like you’ll never see me again
How many really know what love is? No you never will Do you know until you lose it

That it’s everything that we are looking for
When I wake up in the morning
You’re beside me
I’m so thankful that I found
Everything that I been looking for

I don’t wanna forget the present is a gift
And I don’t wanna take for granted the time you may have here with me
‘Cause Lord only knows another day is not really guaranteed

So everytime you hold me
Hold me like this is the last time
Every time you kiss me
Kiss me like you’ll never see me again
(can you do that for me baby)
Every time you touch me
(see we don’t really know)
Touch me like this is the last time
(see everyday we never know)
Promise that you’ll love me
(I want you to promise me)
Love me like you’ll never see me again
(like you’ll never see me again)

Sometimes you get moody and salty for no reason. Even when your plans and life are going well.
Maybe it's a girl thing. It is a tiring Saturday for some reasons.

Anyway, suddenly, I have a obssession with cupcakes! Ai yai yai~~~ Thanks to my friend Joone (check her popular food blog here). Also, while you're at Joone's, check out our other mutual friend, Mia and her blog: Skinny-epicurean. She wanted to bake them, and I offered to help her checking out the things that she needed and offering recipes. I do have some cupcake baking experience, having baked quite a bit of it in February when I was helping Mama with her cupcake orders.

I am tempted to bake some too! Don't you just love them? And you can be so creative with them too! AI yai yai~~~

Back to music. Some music to suit my mood right now, in no particular order.

Bat for Lashes - What's a girl to do
We walked arm in arm
But I didn't feel his touch
A desire I'd first tried to hide,
That tingling inside was gone
And when he asked me: 'do you still love me?'
I had to look away
I didn't want to tell him
That my heart grows colder with each day

When you love someone
But the thrill is gone
And your kisses at night
Are replaced with tears
And when your dreams are wrong???
Then I ask you now, what's a girl to do?

He said he'd take me away
That we'd work things out
And I didn't want to tell him
But it was then I had to say
Over the times we've shared
It's all blackened out
And my bat lightning heart
Wants to fly away

When you love someone
But the thrill is gone
And your kisses at night
Are replaced with tears
And when your dreams are ????
Then I ask you now, what's a girl to do?

What's a girl to do?
What's a girl to do?
What's a girl to do?

So Sexual ; 06:08

Since I am on a roll, why not another post?

I loved Sebastien Tellier's "La Ritournelle" from the first time I heard it. So uplifting and trippy. (Yeh, me dig trippy music so much, I have a "trippy" playlist in my Ipod).

So, pardon me if I do get excited about anything that is by him. He has since released a 12" called Sexual Sportswear. I totally dig the title, by the way. It is produced by one of the guy from Daft Punk too. I am sorry, forgot what's his name.

So, with such street cred going on, I am really anticipating "Sexual Sportswear". I don't know, maybe it's me? But I don't quite dig it after the first listen. ACK! ICK! Ok, chill...

A second listen, with my eyes closed. Hmm, not bad...

A third listen, on surround sounds headphones and with my eyes closed. Well, it is not La Ritournelle, but it is not that bad either. You can feel bits and pieces of Daft Punk influences all over the place. I am not excited by it now, but I will not reject it either. It is just another Sebastien Tellier. Oh, The remix version of this track by Sebastian is absolutely rocking.

P/S: Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo! That's the guy name! LOL

careless whisper(s)... ; 05:31

Woah. I've been lazy.

Actually, I have loads of cool music to post about. But, as I do not want to appear to be too cut copy (pardon the pun) by reviewing about stuff that many other great blogs have reviewed about, I am quite stumped as to what to post. But, today a funny moment came over me while I was checking out youtube. I was viewing Paul Dempsey and Kate Miller-Heidke's performance on SBS "RockWiz", and you know what? I totally dig the song! Well, Paul Dempsey's part anyway. I found Kate Miller-Heidke's vocal kind of weird...

SO...

I have came to a realisation that I absolutely luuurrve the song "Careless Whisper".

Be it the original version or some cover version of it, as long as it is "Careless Whisper", I will dig it. And you know what? I have more than five version of this spanking song, including the original by Wham!. I know alot of people dig this song, even if they do not, they know how to sing the song in parts, or the chorus anyway, =)

If you dig "Careless Whisper" like me, here are several versions that I have of it. Enjoy! This is a massive one. =)

Wham! The grand daddy version. (Mp3)
Paul Dempsey (Something for Kate) & Kate Miller-Heidke. As performed on SBS RockWiz. (Mp3)
Tamia. Her version from her 1998 album. (Mp3)
Dave Koz Ft Montell Jordan. I love this version more than the original.(Mp3)
Kenny G Ft Brian McKnight. What is it with saxaphonist and R&B singers obssession with this song? (Mp3)
Paulo Ricardo. A Brazilian acoustic musician. I like his version as well. (Mp3)
Jon B. His version is kind of macerated. I don't really like it, but it is an experience to the song. (Mp3)
The Sax Brothers. This one is from the Ministry of Sounds Annual. Careless Whisper gone techno. (Mp3)
Willy Mason. A rock/blues/country singer. I chanced upon his version on Saturday Sessions. (Mp3)

Damn Arms - The Not So Progressive Punks ; 10:40

They are so cool, it hurts. Melbourne based quartet, Damn Arms will be releasing their debut full length album "The Live Artex" tomorrow, 3rd November 2007. They will also be kick starting their National tour from the 17th of this month and shall be rocking Melbourne on the 24th, 8pm at the HI-FI Bar.

They have toured with the likes of The Klaxons, (seems like everybody that is cool have toured with The Klaxons lately =p), Midnight Juggernauts, Test Icicles and The Kills. Not bad for a 22 months old band.

Dirty guitars and crazy use of Yama synths made up a lot of this band sounds. The featured track here has a 2-minute guitar solo which is really spanking. I could just listen to the solo part only over and over.

Get the track, turn it out loud, put on your coolest gear and dance stupidly to it.

i will really be dancing... ; 07:37

Oh~ The curse of insomnia...
it is 4:30 am and i am still awake and about to go to work in 4 hours time.

I love this song by Elisa called "Dancing". Playing the track late at night felt so melancholic and yet peaceful at the same time.

It is a hauntingly beautiful track and Elisa have a knack of singing them like this.

The Editors ; 05:23

I am so loving The Editors right now, especially the track "Munich".

There is something magnetic about lead singer, Tom Smith's voice that felt like your just being blanket over when he is singing.

Check out their official website http://www.editorsofficial.com/

Oh, here's the mp3 for the track "Munich" off their "The Back Room" album.

setting up shop ; 02:44

You would that I must have a great ego to be starting a "music blog" of sorts and to recommend what I think is cool and not. I love music, all sorts of music. From the oldies to the top 40s, and music in various languages. I am THE music slut cause I love 'em all.

Discovering music gems is one of my favourite activities online. In fact, I would think that 99.9% of my time online are dedicated to just searching for new music of all sorts. Inspired by all the blogs and sites that I love, this site is set up so that I can share my love of music and the little gems that I have unearthed over the years.

Call me a late convert, but I have been introducing myself to a lot of spanky "new" sounds and acts lately. Right at this moment, I am really obssessing over Diplo, Editors, The National and this new band from Sydney, Australia called Cassette Kids. Their track, "Acrobat" is being repeated to death on my Ipod.

Female lead, Katherine Noorbergen's vocal reminds me of pre "Post" Bjork, right down to the enunciation and the wailing. Musically, if we ever married The Klaxons and TV on the Radio together, Cassette Kids will the be wildchild from that union. The mad rushing bass and guitar riffs will get you tapping along and of course, wailing together in no time.

I am looking forward to attending alot of gigs and when Cassette Kids ever come to Melbourne, I will be the first to RSVP!

Oh yeh, Australia is really coming out with a lot of good indie acts lately. Must be the water. :)
